mission

The purpose and scope of the MRU is to maintain a focused and coordinated research team targeted to the microbiology of infectious diseases. Our MRU has initiated projects directed toward understanding the mechanisms of evolution and emergence of a number of priority pathogens, and the causes that lead to pathogenesis of these organisms. Additional projects have been initiated to develop animal models, which will translate basic research toward the ultimate goal of vaccine or adjuvant therapies for these infectious diseases.
