At the Microbial Evolution Laboratory we are investigating the evolution and emergence of pathogens that cause food and waterborne infectious diseases. Through the analysis of molecular polymorphisms, we are examining the genetic and adaptive changes underlying the origin and spread of new pathogenic bacteria.
